Efficient Changes without Missing a Single Beat.
The first thing you notice about the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder is its new styling: the Japanese automaker has rejuvenated the vehicle without spoiling its appearance. Its rounded shape and extended LED headlights and taillights give it a more contemporary feel while still preserving its rugged look.
While slightly taller and wider, the vehicle is also lighter and, to the great delight of its passengers, much quieter. This is thanks to the use of laminated glass and other insulating materials that make for a quieter ride.
The interior has also been redesigned, giving it a more modern look, as well as added space in the third row courtesy of the larger dimensions. The engine itself was a winning formula, so it remains unchanged: it’s still a powerful V6 engine producing 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque. What has changed, however, is the transmission: the continuously variable transmission (CVT) having a limited number of enthusiasts, was changed to an efficient 9-speed automatic transmission.
Designed to handle the extreme weather conditions often encountered, the SUV comes standard with all-wheel drive. What’s more, the mode and terrain selector have 7 available positions to adapt the vehicle to the roads ahead. One mode, the towing mode, in particular helps keep the load you’re carrying stable, especially when going downhill!
Inside, there’s an 8- or 9-inch touch screen with all the technology you could ever possibly need. Apple and Android connectivity, text messaging, and even a Wi-Fi hotspot come standard. As for the dashboard, it’s a customizable 12-inch digital panel, with an optional head-up display.
The Japanese manufacturer didn’t skimp on comfort either: starting with the entry-level version, the driver enjoys a 10-way power seat with lumbar support and a heated steering wheel. Heated front seats also come with ventilation and even heated second-row seats.
The 360 shield and ProPilot Assistance, advanced driver assistance technologies, also come standardized on this new model. Emergency braking, blind-spot warning, lane departure detection and more are just a few of the features available.
